When young Tom’s school teacher asked his pupils to dress up for ‘Super Hero Day’, he decided you could keep your Spidermans or Supermans and instead created the Super Johnny Walters character.
The Stoke and Ireland striker, who has just signed a new deal to keep him at the Britannia for a further two-and-a-half years, has scored more than 50 goals for the club so he was the obvious choice.
Ireland will hope he can put those super powers to good use against Bosnia-Herzegovina on Monday.
